GENERAL EVENT QUESTIONS


What is the Southwest Games?


The Southwest Games is a multi-sport competitive showcase bringing together athletes from across the Borderland region for a professionally run, tournament-style event. Games are organized, officiated, and streamed live on the Fieldhouse Sports & Entertainment Network (FSEN).



When and where is the event?


Date: April 2026

Location: El Paso, TX (multiple high school venues)


Exact schedules and venue assignments will be released after registration closes.



Who can participate?


Teams are welcome from:

          Middle School

          High School

          Adult divisions (where applicable)


Each sport has specific eligibility rules outlined below.



SPORTS & DIVISIONS


What sports are offered?

          Boys Basketball

          Girls Basketball

          Volleyball

          Flag Football

          7-on-7 Football



Are there sport-specific restrictions?


Yes — please review carefully:

          Volleyball: Women’s / Girls teams only

          7-on-7 Football: Boys teams only

          Flag Football: Open to Men’s, Women’s, and Girls teams

          Basketball: Separate Boys and Girls divisions


Teams must register only for divisions that match their age and gender category.



How are divisions determined?


Divisions are based on:

          Age

          Grade level

          Gender


Teams will be placed accordingly to ensure fair competition.



REGISTRATION & FEES


How much does it cost to register a team?


Team Registration Fee:

          $350 per team

          Early Bird: $250 per team (until March 1, 2026)


Each team must complete a separate registration form.



What does the team registration fee include?

          Guaranteed games

          Certified officials

          Use of high school facilities

          Organized tournament structure

          Awards eligibility

          Live-stream coverage on FSEN



Are registrations first come, first served?


Yes. Once a division reaches capacity, registration will close.



Is my registration refundable?


No.

All registration fees are final and non-refundable, regardless of:

          Scheduling changes

          Injury

          Team withdrawal

          Disqualification



ROSTERS & TEAM INFO


When do rosters need to be finalized?


Rosters and waivers must be completed before the first scheduled game.


Updates may be allowed prior to the event, but roster locks will be enforced.



How do I submit my roster?


During registration, coaches will enter:

          Player name

          Age

          Grade level


Example:


John Smith, 14, 8th

Marcus Johnson, 15, 9th



Can I register more than one team?


Yes — but each team requires its own registration form and fee.



WAIVERS & LIABILITY


Is a waiver required?


Yes.

Every participant must have a signed waiver on file.

          Players under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian agree on their behalf.

          Registration is not complete without a waiver.



Why is the waiver required?


Participation in athletic events carries inherent risk. The waiver protects:

          Event organizers

          Venue partners

          Officials

          Media partners


This is standard for all sanctioned events.



SCHEDULES & GAME FORMAT


When will game schedules be released?


Schedules will be released after registration closes and divisions are finalized.


Expect schedule communication via email.



How many games will teams play?


Each team is guaranteed multiple games depending on division and format.


Exact formats (pool play, bracket play, championships) will vary by sport.



MEDIA & LIVE STREAMING


Will games be live-streamed?


Yes.

Games will be streamed live on the Fieldhouse Sports & Entertainment Network (FSEN), with replay options available.



Can parents watch remotely?


Yes.

Spectator and live streaming passes are available for purchase.



Will photos or videos be taken?


Yes.

By participating, teams grant permission for event photography and video to be used for:

          Broadcast

          Promotion

          Archival purposes

Yes.

Spectator passes are available:

          Daily passes

          Weekend options
